One Little Word: Finding Joy in 2025

There’s something magical about the first day of a new year, isn’t there? It’s like opening the first page of a fresh, untouched journal—so full of possibilities. And if you’re anything like me, you can’t resist the pull of a brand-new journal. 🙈 There’s just something about those crisp pages that makes it feel like anything is possible.

As we step into 2025, I’m carrying on a ritual that’s become a meaningful part of my life: choosing One Little Word to guide me through the year. Inspired by Ali Edwards, One Little Word® is about focusing on a single word that helps set intentions and shape how you move through the year.

This year, my word is Joy .

Why Joy?

Joy, to me, isn’t about big, flashy moments. It’s in the little things—like hearing your laugh, the way the sun feels on a chilly morning, or that quiet moment after a long day when everything feels still. Joy is about being present, appreciating the here and now, and finding light even when things feel heavy.

But it’s also more than that. Joy reminds me to stay connected to the things that matter most: family, creativity, and purpose. It’s a reminder to pour heart into everything I do, whether it’s showing up for the people I love or the work I care about.

And when I think about the words our family is choosing this year—Fearless, Sacred, Propulsion, Intentional—it makes me smile. Those words say so much about who we are and what we’re each stepping into.
